Au Natural…..

Now this rodeo queen LOVES me some make-up, fake eyelashes, glitter, jack-it-to-Jesus hair and bling…..I also think that showing up at the gym or barn in full make-up is ludicrous.  I’m all about a pony tail and no make-up……but not for a photo shoot!

Thanks to photos like this woman cropping up around advertising….. BRAVO by the way…..This weeks challenge was “self-au natural”….. WHAT?!?!?!?

This week’s challenge was to capture ourselves “au natural”…..and before my imagination started running wild and pure anxiety set in……. I realized that we were talking about “sans make-up type of au natural”….freckles, laugh lines, wrinkles……not the type of photography that means we were going to be naked birds! 🙂 WHEW….

I could relax….well…..sort of……I wish I would have had a little more time to work on this one….but you know what…. it’s done…a rather hard assignment…harder than I thought….. and I realize that it’s even HARDER not to want to brush up post processing here and there. 😉

After throwing a fit and about a gazillion shots later…..try…you will see…..I was reminded that I’ve worked hard for those laugh lines and honestly 20 years from now I know I’ll probably look back at these “EEEEK” pics of my fuzzy and frizzy morning hair, freckles and wrinkles and wish I wouldn’t have been so hard on my current self.

Sparkle and Spur and embrace yourself au natural…..

“I never wear makeup. When I wear makeup on the show I take it off as soon as I can. I just like the au natural thing.” ~ Laura Prepon

About dustiebill

Born, raised and still trying to live life as an Oklahoma cowgirl. I have a travel loving soul and I LOVE photography. My blog has started out as a place for me to post my 365 photo-a-day challenge....I have now found a love for fine art. Specifically Horse or Western Inspired Photography. I love my husband, kids, DIY projects, horses, wine, lightening, post-it notes, colored sharpie markers, trolling garage sales, baseball, cooking, shopping, working outside in the garden and living a simple country life. If you own a piece of our work you own more than just a piece of art. Thank you for supporting cowgirls. Sparkle and Spur Dustie Bill
